Congratulations to Nick Corcodilos Ask the HeadHunter!

Congratulations to Nick Corcodilos Ask the HeadHunter! I met Nick Corcodilos when he was speaking to a group of resume writers in Savannah, at a conference. His message was so blunt that some offended writers walked out and paced the hallway, fuming.  I went out to see what the chatter was, and how this dude could have offended these people so much. Not too long after, we were on a phone call, and over the years our relationship was strengthened.  Heres what I love about Nick: he tells it like it is. One of my chief complaints as a job seeker was that I couldnt get honest feedback from anyone. Information was sanitized and simplified.  I wasnt getting the results I needed. How do you make progress when you dont get the right information from anyone? Nick was the guy who didnt hold back, didnt give you sanitized information if you wanted an answer, he gave the answer.  Some people cant handle that.  But most job seekers need that.  Thats why I have loved Nicks writings, blog posts, newsletter, columns, etc. And you should too. Job satisfaction and the bottom line - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Gallup have a report from a study involving 200.000 emplyees from 36 different companies, that clearly links high job satisfaction with good financial results. Among other things the report shows that satisfied employees result in: * Much lower employee turnover rates * Higher customer loyalty * Higher sales * Higher profit margins This is great news for my Project Happiness at Work. And I would love to add something to this study. To me job satisfaction seems like a very limited ambition. I would personally never settle for being satisfied with my job. I do my best work and feel much better when Im deeply engaged, professionally challenged and experience constant personal development at work. So what would be the economic impact of a happy workforce, as opposed to one that is merely satisfied.
